THE BUSINESS AND EUROPEAN INFORMATION READING ROOM
THE KRAKOW VOIVODEDESHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Business Information department of the Krakow Voivodeship Public Library came to existence in November 1997. It was a second library department of that kind in Poland. Our task is to accumulate, work out and retain information from the scope of business and the European Union and make it available to our visitors free of charge. Our mission is to support local SME and to secure access to information for our visitors. The Reading Room also supports academic community’s educational background. Services and activities of the Reading Room are open to a wide circle of patrons, among them:

  • businessmen, stock exchange investors, SME owners,
  • the unemployed and people looking for a new job,
  • teachers from public and private colleges, academies and universities,
  • students and graduates from high schools and colleges.

ABOUT THE COLLECTIONS

The information about the Library collections may be found via catalogue.
Our basic informational resources are:

  • thematic books (scientific and popular-scientific literature), dictionaries, encyclopedias, brochures, handbooks and law regulations,
  • professional newspapers and magazines,
  • electronic publications,
  • publications of business institutions (prospectuses, annual reports, brochures, news bulletins, leaflets),
  • selected links grouped by subject.
HOW TO USE READING ROOM'S RESOURCES?

All the materials are available on the premises. There is free access to the bookshelves in the reading room.
We have 36 seats in the reading room and 3 computers with access to the Internet. Our readers can use databases and websites concerning business and the EU. You can also use WiFi to access the internet on your phone, tablet or laptop.
In the Reading Room there is a possibility to copy and print some materials, in compliance with the copyright law. Fees for copies and printouts are on the price list available in the department.
